The Town of Clayton is committed to the highest level of Public Safety readiness and response. Our Public Safety operations include the Clayton Fire Department (fire prevention, suppression, special operations, and public education) and the Clayton Police Department (Patrol, Investigations, Animal Control, and Code Enforcement), and in addition, the Town works in close cooperation with Clayton EMS (a independent, non-profit organization) and Johnston County Communications (Enhanced 911 service.)
One of the best tools to get you vital public safety informaton quickly...whether it's a warning about an approaching hurricane, a power outage, a boil water advisory, or other emergency...is something called CodeRED. The system, managed though Johnston County, allows all residents and businesses to receive a phone call, text or email alert when important or potentially urgent public safety or service related events happen. This service is absolutely FREE! Please make sure you are signed up! All information is kept confidential and you won’t be pestered with nuisance calls…alerts are only made regarding legitimate public safety or public service matters. Sign up NOW!
