More Volunteers Needed for Town Info Desk
The Town of Clayton doesn't have enough volunteers to keep the Town Hall Information Desk adequately staffed weekdays and needs more help.
The group that came together last year is doing a good job, but it isn't enough, said Customer Service Director Ann Game.
"We have a great group of volunteers, but we need more," Game said.
Primary responsibilities include welcoming visitors and directing them to the proper departments in both Town Hall and The Clayton Center. Volunteers will also act as greeters, providing general information about the community to those new to town. No one will be asked to answer telephones, she said.
Officials want to staff the Desk with volunteers from 10 am to 2 pm each weekday. Volunteers usually work in two or four-hour shifts.
Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to contact Game at 553-5002, extension 5200 or by email at agame@townofclaytonnc.org
The Desk has been staffed by volunteers over the last year or so due to staff reductions forced by a scaled-down town budget.
