Internet Classes for Seniors Coming Up

Following the success of last October's computer class for seniors, the Parks & Recreation Department will be offering three addition classes in the coming weeks designed to help residents 55 years of age and older make use of the internet.

The classes will center on learning to send and receive email, utilizing social networks such as Facebook, learning procedures for making purchases online and making use of Skype, a communication software that allows users to make video telephone calls using a computer camera.

"Since we had such great success a few months ago, we are going to offer more," said Program Coordinator Matt Lorion. "The classes are still no charge and will be held at the Clayton Community Center."

Here's the schedule:

Jan. 28 - Sending and receiving email
Feb. 18 - Utilizing E-commerce
March 10 - Learning Social Networking and Skype

Computers are provided, and the class is free. Registration is available at the Clayton Community Center on Amelia Church Road, by telephone at 553-1550 or online by clicking here.
