Sometimes, all it takes to change the world is a man with a simple idea.
A contractor from a small town in Montana recently touched off a chain reaction among homebuilders that could lead to much higher sales of American-made building materials -- and maybe even some new jobs for American workers. He's building a home made entirely of American-made materials, from nails and screws to paint and plywood.
But it wasn't as easy as he initally thought to find all those American-made items. Finding some materials, took a lot of work. So far, he's used materials made in 33 states, including North Carolina.
His effort, and a valuble list of where to get American-made building materials, is catching on with other builders.
